When the 340 was first sold, pressurization and radar in a light twin was a
REALLY BIG DEAL. It was probably before the P Baron and whatever piece of
stamped metal Piper was selling at the time. Still would have a place in the
marketplace, I would think. Beech seems to think there is a solid place for
a Baron today and in the future, but likely to have different engines,
diesel or turbine, I expect.

Thanks for saying what I was thinking. Might as well haul them around
in a Piper Archer.

I love the labeling for pressurization and radar equipped. That's a
nice sell point.
The fact is, though, that the 340 really is a nice flying airplane and
does pretty well in the usable load vs. fuel category. It's a great
300 mile airplane.
