The dynamics are such that if things started getting better today you
would not see any improvement in your lifetime.
We are entering a Grand Minimum in the sunspot cycles, similar to the
Maunder Minimum of the 17th century. These minimums take place about every
120 years, and if the prediction that I have calculated is even partially
accurate we should see a minimum about as long as that one:

We've had two minimums since the 17th century, the first being the
Dalton Minimum of about 1780 to 1825 and the Lesser Dalton Minimum of 1900
to 1930. There were noticeable climate changes during the Dalton Minimum,
but little that was noticeable during the Lesser Dalton Minimum. The
weather was so dreary in Europe during the Dalton Minimum that there was a
contest amongst writers to see who could write the best horror story.
"Frankenstein" was the winner.
If the theories concerning climate cooling during grand minimums is
correct, we may get some relief from this next one.
