My Saab 9/3 turbo is not dead but VERY sick! Driving along briskly on Thursday
and the Turbo decided to let go in the most spectacular fashion! I suddenly
realised I was laying down a huge cloud of grey smoke completely obliterating
both carriageways behind me. Luckily I was within 3mls of my local garage,
Diagnosis was as I expected...a blown turbo...estimated cost about £ 700 / $
1000+ Engine has done about 65,000 mls :-(> Car is 11 years old but is
usually very reliable.
So that's no Olympus 60mm Macro for a while.

Only way to deal with personal transport. Trouble is, deciding when it has
'died'. Does "needing a new clutch" qualify? I'm waiting for a catastrophic
failure on the old SUV at the moment but it just won't die and keeps limping
along.
