One shot from last night was the entire cast, plus the directors and
playwright on the set after the show. There was a lot going on, I was
kinda rushed, and trying to avoid standing on seats so I used the 12-50 on
the wider end. In retrospect, I should have pushed for more control of the
situation and used a longer focal length.
I didn't notice until I imported last night that the one director on the
photo's left was really suffering from WA distortion - and since this was a
non-repeatable shot, my heart sank. It wasn't unusable, but the distortion
just looked bad. And it was the same in every shot of that arrangement.
That's when I dug into my spiffy new LR book, found out about the "lens
correction" menu. I grabbed the "distortion" slider, dragged it back and
forth to see what it actually did, and was blown away to find out I could
correct almost all of the "rubberface" distortion out of the edges.
Awesome. Saved the photo. Yay, me!
