I've listened to a wide variety of opinions about the three major versions
of Linux, and the vast majority of them have been positive. I've downloaded
all three and I'm now trying to burn a DVD of each for evaluation. The
DVD/CD-R/W on this laptop will not burn DVDs, so I have an adapter in the mail
to jury rig a full size DVD-R/W.
Overall, it looks like LinuxMint will be the version I'll use. It's
basically Ubuntu with a large number of freeware applications included.
