Someone, in the small blizzard of emails, suggested getting more
people/galleries of each page of the list of
members/galleries. A smaller thumbnail size and less info about the gallery
could make that happen.
Really, if you think about it, a one page list of names would be sufficient for
finding the gallery desired from that
page. I recall from the last iteration of ZX gallery trying to remember "Which
page is 'Joe Blow' on?", so I wouldn't
have to click through a bunch to find it. "Click, scan, click, scan, click,
scan ..." A waste of time and attention -
and simply annoying.
I advocate a smaller thumbnail for those pages and, if possible, less info. Are
date, a repeat of the owner name, size
and views needed at this level? We are already up to five pages. Make
navigation too much trouble, and fewer people will
bother. Ease of use is very important.
For example, how would a three column layout of small thumbnail, member name
and 'new' flag work. 30 per page, without
scrolling? And how about scrolling, as it grows? Better for tablets.
Should it be alphabetical?
I'm not suggesting you should go out and bust your pick right now. Getting it
solid and stable is the first priority.
But making it easier, more transparent, to use, is a good medium term goal.
