Yeah I know about those Moose. The theory is sound for urban areas but
in local rural implementation there are several problems.
a) everyone has to have one. Who do I call?
b) they are site specific which defeats the purpose of a mobile device.
When I'm home I can just use the land line.
c) expensive (and no benefit)
d) only work with dsl. not satellite or cable.
e) not available for my phone. I use a Tracfone. flat rate, 1425min/425
days for $100. Plenty for my occasional use.
About the only thing to do if I _must_ be able to use a cell phone (see
b above) is to use an antenna up in a tree with an amplifier. There is
one at my current jobsite that works if you stand in the window closest
to the box but still drops calls.
