Hi Mike - and everyone here.
Obviously, I cannot let this post pass by ...
Didn't knew how things are going in WA. Here, it's not legalized, it's
the government who says it might be, and still under discussion.
I agree our country cannot afford fighting drug dealers and organized crime.
I suspect the party which won the past two periods needs to get more
votes, as this administration showed dangerous weaknesses. The
original idea was spoken loud by one traditional party leader, more
than 10 years ago.
Real problem is violence (new social problem in this small country
under a socialist government) - and theoretically, legalizing pot
would diminish the demand of poisonous cheap cocaine, which no doubt
increases violent behaviour (addictive and induced confusional states
[delirium]).
Personally, I think that demystifying the use of pot might lead to a
decrease in its demand - and an increase in tax income.
But basically, the left wing association of smaller left wing groups
need more votes for 2013.
I've read funny things about our President in FB - amazing.
Moreover, this project must demonstrate it won't hurt our western
neighbour country.
And that our registered pot-user citizens won't get a bar code or something.
Fernando.
