Thanks for all your kind words and observations.
Well, my good fortune continued the next day, Sunday. As part of the Thyme
Festival, the local Council put up a medium-sized open-sided tent (gazebo
?) and for a nominal fee those who applied could exhibit for sale or
whatever, their pictures from 10 am to 2 pm.. Turned out that just 4 of us
including a local photographer who is still shooting medium format and who
is in the process of setting up a framing studio in his home, were in it. He
had perhaps 100 prints there; I had just 8.
I didn't matter that I did not sell any (hardly anybody did, it was
unseasonally
cold and windy, and that seemed to have people keep their hands in their
pockets); but I had plenty of interest and also good feedback from the
previous night.
To cap it all off I had an offer to hang 6 of my prints at a local country
cafe/gallery. I accepted promptly. :-)
Oh, and I forgot; at the evening the night before I chatted to one of the (well
known locally) paint artists and told her of some procedural difficulties I was
having with watercolour painting, and she offered to put me in touch with a
local painting group for guidance.
So it's been a great 2 days for me.
And I must say also ... I know I have not been able to absorb all the advice
you guys have given me, but I think some has stuck where it matters.
Whatever anybody might say about my level of attainment, that I have
reached where I have is due in large measure the all the Zuikoholics of this
group who have nudged, cajoled and advised me for many years past.
Thanks guys.
