Back when I was working (a whole 6 months ago) the company email was
based on Microsoft Exchange with Outlook clients. In that system you
do have to possibility to recall a message, but iirc you can only do
it (1) within the system (i.e. not to external smtp addresses) and (2)
if no-one has opened it yet.
But there is another nice feature of Outlook (maybe something similar
in T'bird?) called Rules (sort of macros) - I set up one which would
delay sending every email by 2 minutes. Thus you had the chance to go
into the Outbox and edit (delete expletives etc) - I named it
"D'oh"...
