Joel is right about it being a B'fly--out during day with bulbs on end
of antennae =B'fly.
This guy is more in Dean's territory and haven't seen any in last 6
outings with MA chapter of No Am b'fly Assoc (NABA). Expert I am not.
My best estimation based on the wing morphology/color time of year is
the Fall/Spring lighter form of a Comma. If feet held to fire would ID
it as Eastern Comma. I can hallucinate and see a lighter area on top of
the dark spot near the trailing edge of the forewing. It is also more
common than a grey Comma. I don't run into these guys often though one
was pointed out to me a few years ago, I think. Hind wing and side shot
with other clear field marks would make it easy .
The star is the shadow. Cool shot.
