A closed-course air race is scheduled for tomorrow, starting and finishing at
the local airport. I spotted the first entry to arrive, and spent a few
minutes talking with him. The airplane is a Van's RV-6A. He said he and his
wife spent 8 years building the airplane. She died of cancer in January, and
he misses her very much. He took off for a flight to check out the race route.

I learned to fly in 1957-58, beginning in a Piper J3C-65 Cub. It taught me a
lot! I recently learned that a new owner is restoring the airplane, so I took
this opportunity to get a photo of it once more. There are a few details left
to complete, but the old girl looks just fine.

To make room in a hangar for race registration, etc., the Red Knight T-33 was
sitting outside. Walking past it, I noted this prominent warning:

All with the E-1 and Leica Elmarit-R 28mm.
Comments and critiques welcomed.
