PESO:
In the middle of everything else, my Nikon LS5000 decided to quit. It
still seems to be working, making noises when I turn it on, but none of my
computers can find it. It was hooked up to my small laptop, scanning away
happily for months. Then it started to get erratic, changing the scanning
dimensions and profiles and blinking on and off. I tried changing the
cable, which usually seems to be the problem, but 4 new cables have not
solved the problem. I still get a "no scanner found" message no matter
which program I use - Silverfast, Nikon Scan or Vuescan. Has anybody else
had this problem. I'm pretty sure there must be a short in the connection
where I plug the cable in. I can't figure out any other reason why it
would come on and work but not be seen by the computer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. In the meantime, I've gone to get
my Beseler Slide Duplicator and installed it in my office at the farm for
trying the in-camera scans, but the bulb is burned out so I have to wait
until I get a new one. Life is so complicated.
