A lot of general aviation flights rely on the principle of "see and be seen" to
avoid conflicts, particularly around airports. This owner made sure that he
could be seen by providing a bright, yet tasteful, paint job.

Many refinements have been made over the years to improve the safety and
handling of aircraft. Some are so small that they are not noticed by the
general public. Vortex generator pairs, such as those seen here, are
frequently added along the maximum thickness of wing and tail airfoils to
energize the boundary layer and delay flow separation, permitting better
control response and lower landing speeds.
