Hi Ken,
The synchronizer provided by E. Leitz Inc. N.Y. allowed synchroniztion from
1/20 to 1/1000, using bulbs such as the Press 40, or FP bulbs, both of which
had long, flat peaks. For the Press 40 (or GE #11), Guide Numbers at ASA 80
ranged from 220 at 1/20 to 50 at 1/1000.
After some testing, I concluded that the focal plane shutter Guide Numbers
were approximately 2/3 the value of those given for leaf shutters. And,
blue bulbs gave about 2/3 the light of clear bulbs.
