Hi Jez,
Some cities and counties assess a tax on each motor vehicle, as a way to
raise money for building and repairing streets and roads. When it is paid,
the owner receives a sticker to apply to the license plate, as proof that
the tax has been paid.
Fortunately, we reside in a small town that has not yet reached that point,
though it has been mentioned. Some people think it is more appropriate than
to keep raising the tax rate on real property.
