Considering that we have a few people on this list that have done a nice job of keeping "Monster Cable" in business... The key to a decent set of near-fields is that they are representative for the typical listener's sound system. They aren't the best speaker available and they do mask the teeniest and tiniest nuances that the really expensive speakers will reveal. But I wouldn't want to mix on the world's best speaker system because of the key word "translation". You can't translate what you hear on those $20,000+ speakers to what will be heard in the typical Toyota. These MR8 speakers are self-powered, so the amplifiers and speakers are directly matched and everything is calibrated. For $139 each, I am pleased as punch. -- Ken Norton ken@xxxxxxxxxxx http://www.zone-10.com -- _________________________________________________________________ Options: http://lists.thomasclausen.net/mailman/listinfo/olympus Archives: http://lists.thomasclausen.net/mailman/private/olympus/ Themed Olympus Photo Exhibition: http://www.tope.nl/ |
