Try an auto white balance in ACR (or whatever Lightroom calls it) using
the shadowed white parts of the boy's jacket. Then tweak a little bit
until it looks right to you. It brightens the image and improves the
color. If I use the white patch in the mother's hat for white balance I
get something close to your original.
