Yes, the L1 does a pretty dramatic blue-shift on these flowers, but
strangely, it seems to be Raw converter sensitive. I'm guessing that the
four pixel colors don't have uniform sensitivity to IR/UV and depending how
the algorithm works (3, 4 pixel merge, etc) it seems to hide or bring out
the violet colors.
The E-1 remains the champ at keeping the violets violet. Almost to a fault.
You really see the difference when shooting a wedding where there are
flowers or silk fabrics that achieve the purple hues through near UV and
near IR spectral reflectance. When using the flash, you see the violets.
Without flash, they turn blue.
The Nikon D2X was pretty well blind to these colors and shifted everything
to the primary colors.
