Mid July Nikon will stop selling all repair parts to anyone but their
ASCs. Meaning KEH, all repair shops, the average joe who just wants to
buy a battery door. No can do, you'll have to send it to Nikon and pay
$120 for a new battery door. They also recently started something extra
sneaky: A repair shop sends in a current model electronic flash (like
an SB-900 that constantly overheats and shuts down). Instead of
estimating it and invoicing in the name of the sender (repair shop)
Nikon looks up the registered owner, sends the estimate directly to him
and cuts the repair shop out of the loop.
Nikon = Kodak
