As is > digital photography!:-) For the quantities of shots required for some assignments, I would definitely agree with you about the burden of film. Digital is a massive improvement in that regard. However, where I argue for the value of film is when you don't need to shoot thousands of pictures on an assignment. When working something that allows you to do it in, say 20 rolls or less. Maybe that barge has floated far down the river and no assignment makes sense to be done on film. Well, that's fine. I shoot film because I want to shoot film and try to find whatever justification I can to make it so. Where I do believe we've taken a step backwards, though, is regards to the contact sheets. I still prefer working off of contact sheets. I can eyeball a set of sheets and jump right to the preferred shots much faster than I can in any computer-based tool. BTW, your picture "Dew Drops" is simply stunning!
