I think you misunderstand. Like mine, it is proof against squirrel destruction
by chewing it to bits, not against
squirrels eating out of it.
There are bird feeders that are far better at preventing squirrels feeding, but
I find them unattractive in more than
one way.
Our squirrels go through cycles. We've had the occasional terrors that can get
anywhere and destroy anything. I have
trapped the most destructive and relocated them. The current ones are, thank
goodness, dumber, and happily feed on what
the birds drop. But then, the arboreal rat cycle seems to be on the upswing
again, sigh.
