My old Lawnboy died about ten years ago, and I went to a self-propelled
Snapper. This Spring, the propelling gear box or differential on the
Snapper locked up, and the cost of repairs was too great for a 9-yr old
mower. I searched on-line, and concluded that the John Deere, with
key-start, was the best investment. I just completed 5 hours of running
with the break-in oil, so it was time for an oil change.
Mower companies are consolidating. After I bought this one, I found that
John Deere had bought Murray, and this is really a Murray design with a
green paint job. Except for a minor electrical interlock problem, fixed
under warranty, it is doing fine.
