I wouldn't call the Fuji a world (know you didn't either ;-). It is a small
reservate, in which they have two camera's. The x-100 has the superior
hybrid finder implementation, but is limited to one focal length.

The x-pro 1 comes down to only two focal lengths in its optical finder,
rather disappointing when I found out. With only two lenses that will give
the same hybrid rangefinder feeling as the x-100. The current wide angle
and the standard lens. With the light tele macro, the part of the hybrid
viewfinder is already quite small, many users will prefer the full digital
one. When the ultra wide angle comes, it will be hybrid but no longer
range-finder like (I'm talking about the 'you know and can anticipate what
will come into view by looking through the view-finder' feature). Same for
the 35mm equivalent lens that will come (it will be choosing between a very
small rectangle of your optical image, or the full screen). Further tele's
will be quite useless in hybrid use.

It would be different if they implemented a zoom finder, but I guess that
would complicate things to much (including their profit margin).

I'm glad you can buy the camera's that suits your shooting style, but I
don't see Fuji's current approach as a viable alternative for the all-round
system that m43 wants to be. But as a cheaper Leica substitute, maybe.

BTW, you did notice the VF-2 Olympus viewfinder on the new Leica
rangefinder did you? So it can't be that bad ;-)

Best, Frank.
