However, you are assuming that you have seen everybody. I don't make
it a habit of running into people, but once in a while someone will
sneek into my blindspot and if I'm not paying REALLY GOOD ATTENTION,
I'll lane-change right into them. Turn signals will at least give them
a fighting chance of escaping my lane change.
'Course, I drive one of those big gas-guzzling SUVs with blind spots
the size of ocean-liners.
Out of decades of habit, failure to use my turn signals gives me about
the same feeling as not wearing my seatbelt or going commando.
