Not too surprising. Ilford had raised their prices a hunka chunka a
while back. It caused me to do a major freezer stocking with another
brand. I keep shopping the sales, though. Along with everybody else.
When a good deal on Ilford comes along, we scarf it up in a hurry.
Long live Freestyle, B&H and Photographer's Formulary.
I've put a stop to acquiring any more color film. I'm only buying
color films for specific jobs. I've got a little bit of stock to
handle whatever comes my way, but I'm not piling up any more. I'm
still shooting it, but not building and maintaining a substantial
inventory. I've got at least 10 rolls of NPZ, 5 rolls of Ektar, a
couple rolls of Velvia and Provia and a couple Portra 160NC and 400
rolls. In B&W, I've got bricks of film.
Oh, I do have some rolls of medium-format color films (a bit of
everything--mostly Fuji) that I'm probably going to trade. I've been
holding on to it in case a medium-format camera drops in my lap, but
it hasn't happened yet and I'm a bit leary about gaining another
system.
