Well, I'll suggest that when it comes to the price of the class of
very high grade lenses (of which the 35-80 is firmly a member of),
these "insane prices" are not all that out of line.
I'm in the midst of my big honkin annual shindig I'm hired to
photograph. Last night, I used the PanaLeica 14-50 on the DMC-L1, but
the 100/2 on the E-1. Tonight, for all the portraits and group shots,
I'll be using the 35-80. Nothing does portraits quite like it. I just
wish that I could still do this event with film.
