I was raised in the UK where there are only 'newts' and they're as aquatic as a
frog. They don't metamorphose at will.
Most of us only experience the kind of beast you've posted there as a pet
axolotl which I understood was an immature salamander with the unusual ability
to breed in the immature form (neoteny).
