Wow - that's pretty amazing !
I've had trouble installing V.9.0.78 Multilanguage (x86 / x64), and
didn't make myself the time to troubleshoot what's happening.
On w7 64, I run vuex6490.exe but not vuex3290.exe, assuming that only
that .exe was needed for w7 64 - but an error message from windows
told me it had stopped working quite close to the end of the scanning
task = no .tiff at all. Disappointing.
I wondered if I should install both vuex3290.exe _and_ vuex6490.exe,
but as said I didn't read any instructions on installing.
Since then, I uninstalled VueScan and neglected to make further
reading or thoughts about what's going wrong.
Now you're giving me good evidence to think this over. I read Joel
comments about this new Vuescan ability, but was either too busy or
lazy or skeptical ... :-/ (sorry, Joel).
I'm a little confused regarding my first 64bit OS - wounded by losing
Focus Magic, and having two versions of CS 5 (one for 32 and another
for 64bit), some plug-in work on the 32 versions only and some on
neither, not even on CS 3 (like FocusMagic).
Any clue?
TIA,
Fernando.
