True, and I think there is a safe assumtion that most people buying
these $3600 TVs have a home-entertainment system (stereo) hooked up to
them.
The volume (h*w*d) for speakers is an issue, that's for sure. Doesn't
necessarily have to be. Bose has done a fabulous job making very tiny
speakers sound like monsters. There are also signal processing
techniques to fatten the sound up too. Maxxbass is one such
technology.
If these TVs get much thinner, you could make the entire TV into an
electrostatic speaker.
