I think the unreleased 85/1.4 had an aspherical element. It had a GRIN
element which achieves some of the same concepts. Marco Covina had abit of
info on it, and there's a patent for it too.
They also had a patent on a 24/1.4 that was never released which may have
had aspherical elements, I forget.
