Joel's little insect resting on the stigma/whatever of the crocus bloom
looks to me like a midge, family Chironomidae. Hope Don Holbrook
concurs. Small head beneath large thorax, long hind legs extending
back--but, hey, Joel, get back in there with your OM 38/2.8 lens on your
65-116 auto extension tube and T28 twin macro flashes, and I'd be able
to give a more certain ID. Lovely shot, though, varmint or not.
