Hi John,
I think you are setting your sights too high. ;~) I believe it is a Triumph
Spitfire, of the 1.5 litre variety, one of the later models after they added
the rubber baby buggy bumpers to satisfy US safety laws.
My son had a 1972 Spit, bought used, and enjoyed it for commuting to
college.
