Hmm, the microfocus adjust (MA) chips predated use with MA feature in a
cam body. The adjustments can be combined,
but I know of no reason the chip can't be programmed on 5D classic.
Starting from the same direction (I use infinity) and working
s-l-o-w-l-y
towards focus point may improve consistency. Magnified LV has been
definitively shown to beat any AF. On the CV 180/4 the focus confirm
is usually close enough but that is more forgiving given the larger
dof. MA for zooms is generally a fool's errand.
