The Valle de los Caídos seems very strange, Nathan. But there is a great deal
in Spain's not-too-distant past that would be well forgotten were it not for
the number of people hurt by it. I have recently read a novel set at about the
time of the Civil War, "Winter in Madrid", C J Sansom.
I really enjoyed that tour: Beatrice is a highlight, and her (quite big) baby
is beautifully healthy. I love the colours of many of the images, but the
Teteria caught my eye for its welcome, in Arabic, "Ahlen wa Sahlen". My father
taught me this from an early age, living as we did in several Arab countries:
Iraq, Hadhramaut (now Yemen), and Bahrain.
