Ah well, there were a couple of factors at work. First, I had the S100
immediately at hand, and was in the process of
testing it in whatever ways occurred to me, so of course I used it first.
Second, this was a very small ray of sunlight sneaking through a tree and a
small gap between the translucent roof over
a deck the the rain gutter above. It doesn't seem like the sun moves very fast,
but in such a situation, it moves much
too fast! My first shot was at ISO 100, but I preferred the light, framing and
DOF of the second one. You will probably
like the DOF of the first.

I noted the time and went back ahead of time the next day to take some more
shots with 60D and S100. A couple of them
may work out well. A slight, hazy overcast and the movement of the sun's path
in even a day meant the light was not
quite the same. I haven't yet looked at them closely.
