No noise penalty though I believe DR takes a hit. I have seen some
real world examples of this and have not tried to use that
setting --mostly because it is also fussy to use more than anything I
think. Also the "real" ISO differs from the dial. CHDK can decipher
what the cam actually uses
and display this on demand. Perhaps the 50 setting just behaves as a
software pulled ISO 100.
