I have been a member of this outfit for about 6 months after my son
recommended it. He is perhaps more business savvy than me, so I joined.
I have often wondered what generates the invitations. For instance, I had
one a couple of days ago from a certain Ken Norton. For a moment I
wondered if it was really him who sent it, or alternatively, LinkedIn. I did
accept it, but now the topic has arisen, perhaps AG could comment on this
one.
There is no way that it can access my address-book. I use Pegasus mail
program, which I have done for more than 10 years. As far as I am aware,
spammers just don't bother with Pegasus.
Having seen how Outlook works, i wouldn't touch it with a 40-foot barge-
pole.
I have had absolutely no benefit that I can see from joining LinkedIn. I've
wondered if its main purpose is to gather more information on persons, for
the benefit of third parties I can only imagine. FB has sinister objectives of
this kind attributed to it from time to time.
Cheers ... etc
Brian Swale.
