Or something. I've encountered few companies that had less corporate
"maturity" than Facebook. Willy-nilly changes, changing of terms and
conditions and repeated nullifications of privacy settings are the
hallmark of this company. At least now they've come out and admitted
that the users of Facebook are not the "customers" of Facebook.
Facebook is all about data-mining and selling that data to everybody
and anybody.
I'm not saying that Google is much better, but at least they do have
more corporate maturity and know that you don't just up and change the
terms and conditions with "let's see anybody notices" attitude.
As to the saving electricity, well, that actually is true. The
electric bill for some of these data centers is staggering. Moving and
storing bits costs real money.
