1957... Definitely tubes. Probably low voltage space-charge types.
I know a guy with a 59 caddy coupe de ville droptop who mounted dynamotors in
the trunk and did a whole higher voltage tube amplified car stereo in there,
complete with a r2r deck... He's over the top.
