I have to say that all this is "beyond my ken"
I never "got" (understood) layers, so have never used them.
I don't (as far as I know) have any computer program that enables me to
apply a particular process to just a pre-selected portion of an image (except
for 'paint', 'clone' -type operations.
I had *NO* idea that so many operations had been applied by Moose to that
image.
I have a feeling that HDR would be lost on me as well.
