After a week of snow, it was *very* windy here on Friday/Saturday, a friend
a couple of miles away spent most of the weekend clearing his garden of the
remains of his greenhouse, and of his neighbour's trees. Fortunately, we are
in a slight hollow sheltered by a stand of well-chosen oak and beech trees,
so the worst was a slate blown off. But more is forecast for tonight, and to
judge from the charts that Chris T. posted - thanks, sort of ;-) - there
will be much worse to come tomorrow morning, 1200UTC.
Thanks for thinking of us, Brian.
Piers

Just wondering how Piers and Donald have fared in the gales of about 260
km/h recently reported.
