Not with any basis in law, John, I think.
There is no problem with photographing most things, unless there is a
commercial objection; anyone tell you otherwise is probably being over-zealous.
On a related subject, while waiting for my flight back to the UK at Madeira's
airport, we could stroll along the large balcony overlooking the runway and
parking area -- taking photos if we wanted.
