    I guess I became enamoured with the SA-16 after seeing the movie "Last
Flight from Ashia" (Yul Brenner, Charlton Heston), and which is why I still
refer to it as such.  I came away from that movie saying to myself "I gotta
get me one of those."  It appears on a daytime movie channel here every so
often and I just watch it and sigh.

    The pilots sit on separtate platforms either side of a galleyway that
leads to a door beneath the instrument panel.  In a sea anchorage, the
loadmaster goes through the door, opens a hatch in the nose, and tosses out
the anchor.  Engine controls are mounted overhead since there is no centre
pedastel.
