Ho, ho!
Speaking of US measures: we used to measure the oil in our aircraft in litres,
but a couple of months ago they changed it to US quarts (virtually the same
size), but I couldn't think of a reason for making the change.
And it uses more syllables, important when in a hurry and explaining the tech
log of the aircraft to a student . . . :-)
