Some of this phone stuff is infuriating. I had a similar problem with
Verizon over a data package I didn't order. I was also being charged
for text messages that I received that were never anything but spam.
When I bought the last phone I wanted a different ring tone. The only
way to get it was to have data enabled. They had to enable the data,
download the ring tone and then disable the data. Getting rid of data
and text charges was easy. Just a phone call. Also, getting the
previous charges removed was also easy. But you had to notice and
request it. Funny how they slip up so often, eh? :-)
