If you look at the D700 page, you'll discover that their reference lens is a
Coastal Optics 60mm f4, a rather arcane piece of glass for IR and UV
photography in scientific and forensic applications - with a 4.5K price tag.
Not exactly a 'real world' test. The lens itself may be unhappy with an AA
filter. It would be nice to see comparisons with a normal pro-grade lens before
making any assumptions.
