This is my yardstick measure of a how serious a software vendor is. if 
there isn't a linux or unix port of the package, then they are just not
a serious contender in that market space. They may very well be
successful $-wise, but they are just not worthy of serious consideration
(whether I'm buying or recommending to clients). The fact that these
people have ported a 'doze app to (or nativley written for) osX, means
that they CAN do this very easily - but have made the decision not to,
making them contemptible as well. :)

Fortunately, in most cases someone has written something better under
one of those great free OSs - and those are usually free, too.
