It's nothing to do with the version of iPad, Ed, it's the iOS. Ken probably
needs to update his.

I suspect that you need to update your iOS, and perhaps read about printing.
As for saving PDFs the only problem, for me, is that you can't see the filing
system. But at the very least you can save PDFs to iBooks in the device.
