I bet the clue is in bottom plate, as Moose suggested, despite the
screws may be well tightened. Don't over torque them !.
If I attach the winder 2, and then the PBG 2, to the bottom of my
plain OM 4 it sometimes gets into a 'confusional state', not so noisy
as you describe but funny and annoying at the same time (oxymoron
intended).
